Libreville's climate is tropical, with a hot, rainy period from September to May and a relatively cool, dry period from June to August. The wettest months are October and November, but still, the rains are abundant for many months of the year.
The city is the capital of Gabon and is located on the coast, on the estuary of the Komo River.
Although the city is located just north of the equator, the temperature pattern is that of the Southern Hemisphere, so the coolest period corresponds to the austral winter.
The sun does not shine very often, and actually, the cloudiest period is the dry one.
