Marseille, where it's located

The climate of Marseille is Mediterranean, with mild, relatively rainy winters and hot, sunny summers, sometimes sultry, but tempered by the breeze.
The city is located on the Mediterranean coast, east of the Camargue and the Rhone River delta, in an area exposed to the Mistral, the cold and dry wind of the north. Although winter is generally mild, the wind, which can blow at 100 km/h (60 mph) or more, can increase the feeling of cold. Furthermore, sometimes there may be cold spells, with lows going down to -6 °C (21 °F) or even below. At the Marignane airport, the temperature dropped to -15.6 °C (4 °F) in February 1956, to -12.4 °C (9.5 °F) in January 1985, to -9 °C (16 °F) in February 1986, to -10 °C (14 °F) in January 1987, and to -9.5 °C (15 °F) in February 2012.
In summer, there can be very hot periods, with highs exceeding 35 °C (95 °F). The temperature reached 40 °C (104 °F) in July 1983, 38 °C (100.5 °F) in June 2003, 39 °C (102.5 °F) in July 2017, and 40 °C (104 °F) in June 2019.
The average temperature of the coldest month (January) is of 7.2 °C (45 °F), that of the warmest month (July) is of 24.8 °C (77 °F). Here are the average temperatures.
