The climate of Slavonski Brod is continental, with cold winters and warm summers.
The city is located in the interior of Croatia. Beyond the Sava River, which marks the border with Bosnia, is the city of Brod (formerly Bosanski Brod).
Winter is cold and gray, with snowfalls and frosts, although there are also some quite mild periods. Sometimes fog can form.
