Climate chart - Pointe Noire
The climate of Pointe-Noire, the second largest city in the Republic of the Congo, is tropical, with a dry, quite cool season from June to September and a warmer, rainy season from October to May.
The city is located in the south-west of the country, on the coast, at almost 5 degrees south latitude. The Benguela current, which flows on the Atlantic Ocean, is capable of lowering the temperature and inhibiting the formation of rains, although only in winter. However, in this period, the sun does not shine often because of the formation of mists and low clouds.
