Weather and climate in Puerto Carreno (Colombia)

The climate of Puerto Carreño is tropical, with a rainy period from April to November and a dry period from December to March. From June to August, the rains are very abundant, at monsoon level, although they decrease in El Niño years.
Temperatures are high all year round, but especially from January to April, before the rains, when they can reach 38/39 °C (100/102 °F). From June to August, at the height of the rainy season, the temperatures drop a bit, especially during the day, but the humidity reaches the maximum values of the year.
The city is located in the extreme east of Colombia, on the border with Venezuela, at 6 degrees north latitude, at the confluence of the Orinoco and Meta rivers.
