Climate in Leticia (Colombia)

The climate of Leticia is equatorial, that is, hot and rainy all year round. However, even though there is no dry season, the rains decrease somewhat in the austral winter, from June to September.
The city is located in the extreme south of Colombia, at 4 degrees south latitude, in the Amazonas department, on the banks of the Amazon River. Nearby are the cities of Tabatinga, Brazil, and Santa Rosa de Yavarí, Peru. Further south, along the Javary River, is the Brazilian town of Benjamin Constant.
