Climate chart - Cucuta
The climate of Cúcuta (or San José de Cúcuta) is tropical, hot all year round. There are two relatively dry seasons, the first, more pronounced, in January and February, the second, from June to August, characterized by not abundant but quite frequent rains. The rainiest months are April, October and November. The period from June to September is windy, while from October to May, when the wind is weaker and the humidity is also higher, fog can form at night and in the early morning.
The city is located in the north of Colombia, at 8 degrees north latitude and at an altitude of 300 meters (985 feet), near the border with Venezuela. Nearby are the towns of Villa del Rosario, at 440 meters (1,445 feet) above sea level, and Los Patios, at 400 meters (1,300 feet). Beyond the border, in Venezuela, are the cities of Ureña and San Antonio del Táchira.
We are at the foot of the eastern Andes mountain range, but the western mountain range is also not far away.
