Climate in Arauca (Colombia)

The climate of Arauca (or Villa de Santa Bárbara de Arauca) is tropical, with a rainy period from April to November and a dry period from December to March. Temperatures are high all year round, but especially from February to April, before the rains, when they can reach 38/39 °C (100/102 °F). From June to August, at the height of the rainy season, the temperatures drop a bit, but the humidity reaches the maximum values of the year.
The city is located in north-central Colombia, in the department of the same name, at 7 degrees north latitude. Beyond the Arauca River (a tributary of the Orinoco) lies the city of El Amparo de Apure, Venezuela.
