Climate in Qiqihar (Heilongjiang)

The climate of Qiqihar is semi-arid continental, influenced by the Asian monsoon, with freezing, dry winters and hot, rainy summers.
The city is located in northeastern China, in the Heilongjiang province, at 47 degrees north latitude and 150 meters (500 feet) above sea level, on the banks of the Nen River. The provincial capital, Harbin, is 260 km (160 mi) to the southeast.
The winter is very cold because cold air masses of Siberian origin prevail. The sun often shines and snowfalls are rare.
