The climate of Saskatoon is continental, with very cold winters and quite warm summers.
The city is located in central-western Canada, in the province of Saskatchewan, at an altitude of 500 meters (1,600 feet), and at the 52nd parallel.
We are in the Canadian prairies, characterized by low precipitation (especially in winter) and strong variations in temperature.
On the coldest days of the year, the temperature can drop to -35 °C (-31 °F) or even below. In January 2004, it dropped to -45 °C (-49 °F).
On average, 77 cm (30 in) of snow fall per year. Usually it snows from October to early May.
On the hottest days of the year, temperatures can reach 35 °C (95 °F), or even higher. In early June 1988, the temperature reached 40.6 °C (105.1 °F), while in July 2021 it reached 40.5 °C (104.9 °F).
However, in summer the temperature range is high, and at night it gets cool, actually, even in the height of summer, it can sometimes get cold.
Summer is the rainiest season due to afternoon thunderstorms, which can be accompanied by hail.

The best time to visit Saskatoon is summer, from June to August, since it is the mildest season. However, at night it can be cold, while during the day it can be hot.
