Climate chart - Resolute
In Resolute, there is a polar tundra climate, with a long, cold winter and a short summer above freezing .
Resolute, or Resolute Bay, is an Inuit settlement of about 200 inhabitants located in northeastern Canada, in the Qikiqtaaluk region, on the coast of the island of Cornwallis, and at almost 75 degrees north latitude.

Precipitation is decidedly scarce, amounting to about 165 millimeters (6.5 inches) per year, with a maximum in July and August.
During the long winter, light snow often falls, but the amount is low, so much so that it is often not calculated in the statistics of the days with snow. On average, about 105 cm (41 in) of snow fall per year, with the record snow depth being 54 centimeters (21 in).
It can snow all year round, although in July and August this rarely happens.
It usually rains only in the summer, from June to August, and sometimes in September.

On the coldest days of the year, which usually occur from January to March, the temperature drops to -40 °C (-40 °F) or below every year. The coldest record is -52.2 °C (-62 °F), set in January 1966.
During cold air outbreaks, the wind can increase the feeling of cold. The record wind chill (felt temperature) is -72 °C (-97.6 °F).

In summer, fog often forms. Sometimes there can be mild periods, in which the temperature can exceed 15 °C (59 °F). The temperature reached 20 °C (68 °F) for the first time in July 2012, when the highest record was set, with 20.1 °C (68.2 °F).

The sea at Resolute Bay freezes from October onwards, and thaws from June to September. Remember that, being salty, the sea freezes at about -2 °C (28.5 °F).

As for the length of the days, since we are north of the Polar Circle, there is a period, called polar night, in which the sun does not rise, and which goes from November 6 to February 3.
Instead, the period of the midnight sun, during which the sun never sets, lasts from April 29 to August 13. Before and after this period, the white nights, in which it does not get completely dark all night, last from March 29 to September 13.
