Climate chart - Montes Claros
The climate of Montes Claros is tropical, tempered by the altitude, with a rainy season from November to March and a dry season from April to September.
The city is located in central-eastern Brazil, in the state of Minas Gerais, at 16 degrees south latitude and 680 meters (2,200 feet) above sea level.
From June to August, it is the winter of the southern hemisphere, and in fact the temperature decreases, especially at night, while during the day, being the sunniest season, the temperature rises and reaches values similar to the rest of the year. In this period, it can sometimes get a little cold at night, and the temperature can drop below 10 °C (50 °F).
From mid-August the temperature rises, and until October reaches the highest values of the year, before the rains.
