The climate of Maringá is subtropical, with a cool, relatively dry season from June to August and a hot, rainy season from October to March. The rains are quite frequent even in the intermediate seasons.
The city is located in southern Brazil, exactly at the Tropic of Capricorn, in the state of Paraná, and at an altitude of 550 meters (1,800 feet).
