Climate chart - Maceió
The climate of Maceió is tropical, with a rainy season from April to August and a relatively dry season from October to February. The driest months are November and December. Contrary to what generally happens in tropical climates, the wettest period corresponds with autumn and winter (in this case, of the southern hemisphere). This happens in the stretch of coast that also includes the cities of Natal, Joao Pessoa and Recife.
The city is the capital of the small state of Alagoas and is located on the east coast of Brazil, at 9 degrees south latitude.
Temperatures are quite stable, although they drop a bit in the austral winter, from June to September.
The sea breeze tempers the heat.
