The climate of Tshabong (or Tsabong) is arid sub-tropical, tempered by altitude, with a hot, relatively rainy season from November to March and a long dry season from April to October, within which there is a cool period from May to August. In the latter, at night the temperature can drop a few degrees below freezing. During the day, it can get very hot from September to April.
The city is located in the extreme south of Botswana, in the Kalahari desert, at 960 meters (3,150 feet) above sea level.
