Climate chart - Darwin
In Darwin, there is a tropical climate, with a hot, humid and rainy season from December to March (during which the rains often occur in the form of thunderstorms) and a dry period from May to September. In the austral winter, from June to mid-August, the temperature decreases a little, while from mid-August to November, before the return of the rains, the temperature rises, so much so that October and November are, although only slightly, the hottest months of the year.
The city is the capital of the Northern Territory and is located in the northernmost part of the state, called Top End, on the coast. Nearby is the satellite town of Palmerston. North of the Beagle Gulf are the Tiwi Islands.
We are in the humid tropical belt, which is located north of the Australian deserts.

Darwin

Given the latitude, only 12 degrees south latitude, therefore halfway between the Equator and the Tropic of Capricorn, the sun passes at the Zenith at noon twice a year, in mid-February and in late October.
Being in the north of Australia, Darwin can be affected by tropical cyclones. Cyclones typically form from mid-November to mid-May, but are more likely from late December to late March.

Best Time

The best time to visit Darwin is winter, from June to August, as it is the least hot and the driest time of the year.
