Climate chart - Villa Dolores
The climate of Villa Dolores is subtropical semi-arid, with mild, dry winters, and hot, quite rainy summers. In summer, the rains often occur in the form of thunderstorms.
In winter, from mid-May to mid-August, the difference in temperature between night and day is often significant. In addition, although the winter is mild, there can sometimes be outbreaks of cold air from the south, during which the temperature can drop below freezing at night. This usually happens from late May to early September. The record is -10 °C (14 °F), recorded in August 1999.
Snow is very rare, both because the winter is dry and because the sun usually warms the ground and raises the temperature a lot during the day.
Summer, from December to February, is hot and sunny, although thunderstorms are quite frequent.
During the day it can get hot all year round, in fact, the heat records exceed 30 °C (86 °F) even in winter (except in June).
Especially in spring and summer, there can be heat waves, during which the temperature can reach or exceed 40 °C (104 °F). In January 2022, the average maximum was 36.5 °C (97.7 °F). On other occasions, it can get very cool, or even a little cold, at night.

Villa Dolores is a small city of 30,000 inhabitants located in northern Argentina, at almost 32 degrees south latitude and 500 meters (1,650 feet) above sea level, in the province of Córdoba.
The Andes are located about 300 kilometers (185 miles) to the west, while to the east of the city are the Sierras de Córdoba, a mountain range whose highest peak is Cerro Champaquí, at 2,770 meters (9,088 ft).
