Weather and climate in Tucuman (Argentina)

The climate of San Miguel de Tucumán is subtropical (according to the Köppen classification, subtropical climate with dry winters - Cwa), with very mild, dry winters and hot, rainy summers. In summer, the rains often occur in the form of thunderstorms. January is the wettest month.
The city is located in the north of Argentina, at nearly 27 degrees south latitude, at an altitude of 440 meters (1,443 feet) and at the foot of the Andes. Nearby are very high mountains, such as the Cumbres Calchaquies, 4,740 meters (15,551 ft) high, and the Cerro del Bolsón, 5,552 meters (18,216 ft) high.
