Climate chart - Formosa
The climate of Formosa is subtropical, with very mild winters (from late May to mid-August) and very hot, rainy summers (from November to March). In summer, the rains often occur in the form of thunderstorms. Precipitation exceeds 100 mm (4 in) per month from October to May. Winter is the driest season; in July and August, it rains on average for 3/4 days a month.
The city is located in northern Argentina, at 26 degrees south latitude, on the banks of the Paraguay River. Across the river lies the small town of Alberdi, in Paraguay.

Formosa

Even though the winter is mild, there can sometimes be periods a bit cold, especially at night, when the temperature can drop to around freezing. This typically happens from late May to early September.
During the day it can get hot all year round, in fact, the heat records exceed 30 °C (86 °F) even in winter. From mid-August the temperature rises, and in spring and summer, from September to March, there can be heat waves, in which the temperature reaches 38/40 °C (100/104 °F). In January 2022 it reached 43 °C (109.5 °F), and the average high was 39.4 °C (102.9 °F).

The best time to visit Formosa goes from May to mid-August, being the one in which the rains are less abundant and the risk of very hot days is lower. It must be said that sometimes it can get cold, especially at night.
