The climate of Bahía Blanca is temperate, with mild winters and hot summers. Winter is a fairly dry season, while the wettest period is from October to March. The wind blows frequently.
The city is located in central Argentina, at 39 degrees south latitude, in the southern part of the Pampa, in a bay overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, southwest of Mar del Plata.
Even though it is located near the coast, the city is is subject to sudden changes in temperature, in fact, it is exposed both to outbreaks of cold air of Antarctic origin and to invasions of hot air of tropical origin.
