The climate of Tlemcen is transitional Mediterranean, with some continental characteristics, and semi-arid. The winter is quite cold, while the summer is very hot. In addition, in winter, the city is exposed to cold spells and snowfalls.
The city is located in the northwest of Morocco, at an altitude of 800 meters (2,600 feet). The meteorological station is located 250 meters (820 ft), near Zenata, so it provides temperatures a few degrees higher than those recorded in the city (actually, these data do not give a correct indication of the climate of the city).
