The climate of Bou Saâda is subtropical desert, with mild winters (during which it can get cold at night) and very hot, sunny summers.
The city is located in northern Algeria, at an altitude of 580 meters or 1,900 feet (although the airport, where the weather station is located, is at 460 meters or 1,500 feet).
In winter, when cold air from the north manages to reach this area, there can be cold days, with lows below freezing. Occasionally, as in January 2005 and February 2015, there may even be a snowfall.
