The climate of Vlorë is Mediterranean, with mild, rainy winters and hot, sunny summers.
The city is located on the coast, in southern Albania.
Although the climate is generally mild, during the winter, there can be cold days when the winds blow from Russia. The coldest record is -9.5 °C (15 °F) and was set in January 2017.
In summer, temperatures are high even though the city is located on the coast. Moreover, it can get very hot when the sirocco blows from Africa. The highest record is 40 °C (104 °F) and was set in late June 1982 and in July 2021.

The best times to visit Vlorë are spring and autumn, namely the months of May and September. In June, the weather is often excellent, but it can sometimes get hot, especially in the second half of the month.
