Climate in Kukes (Albania)

Kukës is a city in north-eastern Albania, located 350 meters (1,150 ft) above sea level, at the confluence of the Black Drin and White Drin rivers, which widen into the artificial lake of Fierza. Near the city is Mount Gjallica, belonging to the Šar Mountains and 2,468 meters (8,097 ft) high.
The climate is moderately continental, with cold winters and hot summers.
During cold spells, the temperature can drop to -10 °C (14 °F), and more rarely below. In February 2012 it dropped to -14.8 °C (5 °F), and in January 2017 to -15.6 °C (4 °F).
In summer, during heat waves the temperature can reach 38/40 °C (100/104 °F). In July 2023 it reached 41 °C (106 °F).
