Thailand - weather in March

In March, the climate in Thailand is generally very hot and sunny. In fact, this month marks the beginning of the hottest period of the year, which lasts until May, when the arrival of the monsoon will cause a certain drop in temperature.

The temperatures are high everywhere, but especially in the inland areas of the center-north, where the maximum temperatures already exceed 35 °C (95 °F), and can sometimes reach 40 °C (104 °F). However, humidity is higher in the south, which is surrounded by the sea.

The rains are rare in the center-north, where, however, they increase a little compared to February due to the greater heat available. In the south, on peninsular Thailand, the rains are quite rare, and in fact we are still in the tourist season, however, showers and thunderstorms can break out, more likely on the north-eastern side (see Koh Samui, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Songkhla).

The sea in Thailand is always pleasantly warm for swimming.

During the month, the day length gradually increases, although slightly, as Thailand is a tropical country. On March 20, the spring equinox, the day is 12 hours long all over the world.
