Thailand - weather in April

In April, the climate in Thailand is generally very hot, and is usually the hottest month of the year. In fact, we are in the period that could be defined as summer, and which goes from March to May, when the arrival of the monsoon will produce a certain drop in temperature.

The temperatures are high everywhere, but especially in the inland areas of the center-north, where higha generally range from 36 to 38 °C (97 to 100 °F), and can sometimes exceed 40 °C (104 °F).

The rains are moderate in the center-north, where showers and thunderstorms can form due to the heat. In the south, on peninsular Thailand, the rains are more frequent, and are already quite abundant on the south-western side (see Phuket, Krabi, Phi Phi Islands).

In the April-June period, every now and then a cyclone can form in the Indian Ocean, which can hit mainland Thailand after having affected Burma (or Myanmar) more directly.

The sea in Thailand is always pleasantly warm for swimming.

During the month, the length of the days gradually increases, although slightly, since Thailand is a tropical country. In April, the day in Thailand lasts on average 12 and a half hours in the north, and a little less in the south.
