Netherlands - weather in July

In July, the central month of summer, the climate in the Netherlands is very mild, with slight differences between the areas, in fact it is a little more cool, humid and windy on the northern coast, in the West Frisian Islands (see Terschelling), and relatively warm in the southernmost areas and farthest from the sea (see Eindhoven, Maastricht).

The average daily temperature ranges from 17 °C (62.5 °F) in the far north (West Frisian Islands, see Terschelling) to 19 °C (66 °F) in the far south (see Maastricht).
At night it can get very cool, in fact the temperature can drop below 10 °C (50 °F).
Being influenced by the North Sea, the Netherlands is quite sheltered from the heatwaves that are becoming more frequent in some European countries, however, there can sometimes be very hot periods of short duration. The areas most exposed to the heat, where it is easier for temperatures to exceed 35 °C (95 °F), are the eastern (see Enschede) and southern one (see Eindhoven, Maastricht).

The rain increases a little compared to June and the previous months, and is quite frequent and abundant.

The sea is cold for swimming, in fact its temperature is around 17 °C (62.5 °F).

Although the sun in the Netherlands never shines very often, we are in the sunniest period of the year, which lasts until August.

The days are still among the longest of the year, however, their length gradually decreases over the course of the month. In July, the average day in the Netherlands is just over 16 hours long.
