Italy - weather in September

In September, the first autumn month, the climate in Italy is quite warm in the north, while in the south it is still warm and sunny, with summery characteristics. Temperatures gradually decrease, while the rains become more frequent, with the first waves of autumnal bad weather, more likely in the north and in the second half of the month.

In the plains, the average daily temperature is 19/20 °C (66/68 °F) in the north, 20/21 °C (68/70 °F) in the center and 23/24 °C (73/75 °F) in the south. During the hottest days, the temperature can still reach and exceed 35 °C (95 °F) in the center-south.

The rains are still quite rare and generally not abundant in the south, while in the center-north they are moderate.

During the month, the sea begins to be a little cool for swimming in the north, where its temperature is around 22 °C (72 °F), while it is still warm enough for swimming in the center-south, where it is 24/25 °C (75/77 °F).
