Italy - weather in November

In November, an autumn month, the climate in Italy is generally mild, cloudy and rainy. In fact, it is the rainiest month of the year.

In the plains, the average daily temperature is around 9 °C (48 °F) in the north, in the Po Valley (see Milan), and 12/13 °C (54/55 °F) in the center (see Florence, Rome), while it reaches 17 °C (63 °F) in the south of Calabria and in Sicily.
On the warmest days, generally at the beginning of the month, when the sirocco blows, the temperature can still reach 30 °C (86 °F) in the south.
Especially in the last ten days of the month, there can be cold periods, in which the weather by now resembles winter.

Rainfall is frequent and can be heavy, especially on the slopes exposed to the west and south (see Liguria, Upper Tuscany, Eastern Alps, western side of Campania and Calabria). Floods can sometimes occur, even in areas where it normally does not rain much.
It starts to snow in the Alps.

During the month, the length of the days gradually decreases. In November, the average day in Italy is 9 and a half hours long in the north and 10 hours in the south.
