Denmark - weather in May

Flag - Denmark

Map - Denmark

In May, the last month of spring, the climate in Denmark is cool and quite rainy.

The average daily temperature ranges from about 11 °C (52 °F) on the northern tip of Jutland (see Skagen) to 12 °C (53.5 °F) in the south.
In the coldest periods, which generally occur in the first part of the month, the night temperature can drop to about freezing, and during the day it can remain at 10 °C (50 °F).
On the other hand, on the warmest days, generally in the second half of the month, the temperature can reach 23/24 °C (73/75 °F), and more rarely 28/29 °C (82/84 °F).

The rains are quite frequent, however, May is, together with April, the month of the year in which rainfall is less frequent.

Although the sun in Denmark does not shine very often, the sunniest period of the year begins in May and lasts until August. The sunniest place is the island of Bornholm (see Rønne), in the southeast.

The days are long, and their length gradually increases over the course of the month. In May, the average day in Denmark is about 16 and a half hours long.

The following tables show the climate averages in the month of May in Denmark in a selection of locations.
