Denmark - weather in June

Flag - Denmark

Map - Denmark

In June, the first month of summer, the climate in Denmark is generally cool and quite rainy.

The average daily temperature ranges from around 14 °C (57 °F) in northern Jutland to 15.5 °C (60 °F) in Copenhagen, in the east.
In the coldest periods, which generally occur in the first part of the month, the night temperature can drop to around 5 °C (41 °F) or a little below.
On the other hand, on the warmest days, generally in the second half of the month, the temperature can reach 25 °C (77 °F), and more rarely 30 °C (86 °F). These warm periods are however rare and short-lived.

The rainfall increases slightly compared to May, and is quite frequent.

The sea is decidedly cold for swimming, as its temperature is 14.5 °C (58 °F).

Although the sun does not shine very often in Denmark, it is the sunniest time of the year, which lasts until August. The sunniest place is, in the southeast, the island of Bornholm (see Rønne).

During the month, the length of the days gradually increases until June 21, the summer solstice, which is the longest day of the year in the northern hemisphere. In June, the average day in Denmark is 18 hours long in the north and 17 and a half in the south.
During this period, the white nights occur, when it does not get completely dark even at midnight: in Copenhagen this occurs from June 4 to July 9.

The following tables show the climate averages in the month of June in Denmark in a selection of locations.
