Belgium - weather in April

In April, the second month of spring, the climate in Belgium is quite mild.

The average daily temperature is 9/10 °C (48/50 °F) on the coast (see Ostend) and in the plain (see Brussels, Antwerp), while it drops to around 7 °C (45 °F) in the Ardennes (see Bastogne, Spa and Saint-Hubert), which are located further from the sea and at around 500 meters (1,600 feet) above sea level.
In the coldest periods, which generally occur in the first part of the month, the night temperature can drop slightly below freezing.
On the other hand, on the warmest days, generally in the second half of the month, the temperature can reach and exceed 25 °C (77 °F).

Precipitation is quite frequent, however, April in Belgium is the driest month of the year. Sometimes, in the first half of the month, when the winds blow from the north, there can still be snow showers, especially in the Ardennes.

Although the sun in Belgium never shines very often, in April, the sunniest period of the year begins, which lasts until August.

During the month, the length of the days gradually increases. In April, the average day in Belgium is 14 hours long.
