Albania - weather in October

October in Albania is an autumn month, and as is typical for Mediterranean countries, it is generally a very mild month, and characterized by humid winds from the south, which can bring periods of bad weather. However, there are also sunny days, especially in the first half of the month, when it can sometimes still feel almost like summer.
The average daily temperature is around 19 °C (66 °F) on the coast (see Durrës, Vlorë, Sarandë) and 17 °C (62.5 °F) in the capital, Tirana, which is located a little further east, while it is around 13 °C (56 °F) in the cities located on the eastern hills (see Peshkopi, Korçë).
Although October is still a mild month, sometimes the winds from the north can bring a bit of cold at night, more likely in the second half of the month.
The rainfall is abundant on the coast and on the western mountain slopes. In the eastern areas, the rains are a little more contained.
The sea begins to be cool for swimming, in fact, its temperature is 21 °C (70 °F).
During the month, the length of the days gradually decreases. In October, the average day in Albania lasts 11 hours.
