The climate of Bizerte is Mediterranean, with mild, rainy winters and hot, sunny summers.
The city is located in the far north of Tunisia, on the Mediterranean coast. We are in the rainiest area of the country.
Even though winter is mild, there can sometimes be cold periods, and every now and then, like in January 1981 and January 1999, it can even snow.
In summer, during invasions of hot air from the desert, which have become more frequent in recent years, the temperature can exceed 38 °C (100 °F). The heat record is 49 °C (120 °F), set in August 2021 and July in 2023. The latter was an exceptional month, as there were 15 days with a temperature equal to or above 40 °C (104 °F), and the average maximum was 38.7 °C (101.7 °F).
