Cebu City has a tropical climate, hot all year round, although with slightly cooler temperatures from December to February and higher from April to June.
As for the rainfall, there is a relatively dry season in March and April, while rainfall exceeds 100 mm (4 in) per month from May to January. Rainfall is due to the southwest monsoon in the first part (May-September), and to the northeast monsoon in the second part (October-January).
On the hottest days of the year, which usually occur from April to June, the temperature can reach around 35 °C (95 °F). At the end of May 2010 it reached 37 °C (98.5 °F).

Cebu City is a city of 965,000 inhabitants, located in the central Philippines, on the island of Cebu, belonging to the Visayas archipelago, and at 10 degrees north latitude. The metropolitan area, whose population exceeds 3 million inhabitants, also contains the cities of Carcar, Danao, Lapu-Lapu, Mandaue, Naga, and Talisay.
Nearby, across the Cebu Strait, is the island of Nalusuan.

Like the rest of northern and central Philippines, Cebu City can be hit by typhoons, the tropical cyclones of Southeast Asia. Typhoons generally occur from May to December, although they are more frequent between August and November.
