The climate of Ulcinj is Mediterranean, with mild, rainy winters, and hot, sunny summers.
Ulcinj (or Ulcigno) is located in southern Montenegro, on the coast.
The average temperature of the coldest month (January) is of 9.5 °C (49 °F), that of the warmest month (August) is of 26.5 °C (79.5 °F). Here are the average temperatures.

The winter, from December to February, is mild, and is characterized by sunny periods, alternating with periods of bad weather. Sometimes the rains can be abundant, and a strong southerly wind can blow.
Although the winter is generally mild, there can sometimes be very cold days, where the bora wind blows. In these cases, the temperature can drop to 0 °C (32 °F) or below at night, while the maximum can remain around 5 °C (41 °F) or below. The coldest record is -8.5 °C (17 °F), recorded in January 1954. In January 1985, the temperature dropped to -7 °C (19.5 °F).
It is rare for the city to be covered in a white blanket of snow, however, this can happen every now and then, for example, it happened in February 2018.

The summer, from June to August, is hot and sunny, with some afternoon thunderstorms, and a few rainy days, more likely in June.
Although the breeze blows from the sea, there can be very hot and sultry periods, with highs of 35 °C (95 °F) or more. The record is 41 °C (106 °F), recorded in August 1981. In August 2012, the temperature reached 40 °C (104 °F).

Best Time


The best times to visit Ulcinj are spring and autumn, namely the months of May and September. In June, the weather is often excellent, but it can sometimes get hot, especially in the second half of the month.
The best months for a beach holiday are July and August. In June, the sea is still a little cool.
