Climate chart - Vadodara
The climate of Vadodara (or Baroda) is tropical, with a rainy season from mid-June to September, due to the monsoon, and a dry season from October to mid-June. Since the dry season is long, the landscape is barren, moreover, during some years the monsoon lasts less than normal, causing drought, while in other years it is more intense and can cause floods.
The city is located in western India, in the state of Gujarat, at 22 degrees north latitude. A few kilometers to the west flows the Mahi River.
From March to mid-June, before the monsoon, it is very hot. In the hottest periods, the temperature can reach or exceed 43 °C (109.5 °F). In May 2004, it reached 46 °C (115 °F).
On the other hand, nights are cool from November to February, and can sometimes be even a bit cold when air masses come from the north. In January 1962, the temperature dropped to 3 °C (37.5 °F); more recently, it dropped to 6.5 °C (43.5 °F) in January 2017.

Vadodara

Vadodara is in the path of tropical cyclones. Typically, cyclones occur from April to December, with two intensity peaks before and after the monsoon (from late April to early June and in October-November). Gujarat is rarely directly affected by cyclones, however, it was directly affected by cyclone ARB 02 in early June 1998, by tropical depression ARB 02 in late June 2015, by Cyclone Vayu in mid-June 2019, and by cyclone Tauktae in mid-May 2021.

Best Time

The best months to visit Vadodara are December and January, as they are the least hot within the dry season. In February, sometimes it can already get very hot.
