Climate chart - Rønne
The climate of Rønne is Baltic, that is to say, relatively continental, with cold winters and mild to pleasantly warm summers.
The city is located on the island of Bornholm, which lies to the east of the main islands of Denmark, and to the south-east of Sweden, and has a relatively dry and sunny microclimate.
Given the latitude (55°06'N), the white nights, in which the sun sets but it does not get completely dark even at midnight, occur from June 9 to July 3.
Although the winter is not very cold for the latitude, it is often humid, windy and rainy. Snow is quite frequent, although generally not abundant. Even in spring, until April or the first half of May, there is often cold and unstable weather.
Occasionally, there may be cold waves, in which the temperature can drop below -10 °C (14 °F). The coldest record is -18.4 °C (-1.1 °F) and was set in February 1965.
In summer, short hot periods are possible. The highest record is 32 °C (89.6 °F).
In summer, also due to the length of the days, the sunshine amount is quite good.
