Climate chart - Parnaíba
Parnaíba's climate is tropical, with a rainy season from January to May and a dry season from June to December.
The city is located in northeastern Brazil, in the state of Piauí, on the coast of the Atlantic Ocean, near the mouth of the Parnaíba River. Nearby are the towns of Ilha Grande, Luís Correia, and Cajueiro da Praia.
The delta of the Parnaíba River (or Delta das Americas), one of the largest in the world, is characterized by canals, lagoons and sand dunes.
Compared to cities further west, such as Belém and São Luis, the rains are less abundant and the dry season is longer.
