Climate chart - Corumbá
The climate of Corumbá is tropical, with a rainy season from November to March and a dry season from May to September, while April and October are transitional months.
The city is located in south-central Brazil, in the state of Mato Grosso do Sul, at 19 degrees south latitude, on the banks of the Paraguay River. Nearby is the city of Ladário. Beyond the border with Bolivia lies the town of Puerto Quijarro.
We are in the natural region of Pantanal, where the largest wetland in South America is located.
From June to August, it is the winter of the southern hemisphere, and in fact the temperature drops by a few degrees. In addition, sometimes air masses coming from the Argentine pampas can bring cool periods that last a few days, in which the temperature can drop below 10 °C (50 °F). In July 2010, there was a day with rain and a maximum temperature of only 8 °C (46.5 °F). In June 2021 the maximum temperature went down from 34 °C to 12 °C (93 °F to 53.5 °F) in two days, and then the minimum dropped to 5 °C (41 °F). In July 1975 the minimum dropped to as low as 1.4 °C (34.5 °F).
By mid-August, the temperature begins to rise again, and from September to November, before the rains, the highest values of the year can be recorded. In September 2021, the temperature reached 44 °C (111 °F).

The best time to visit Corumbá goes from May to mid-August, being the coolest within the dry season. It must be said that sometimes it can get a little cold, especially from June to August, while on other occasions it can get very hot. From mid-August to late September, it is still the dry season, but the likelihood of very hot days increases.
