Climate chart - Belém
Belém's climate is equatorial, that is, hot and rainy all year round. However, even though there is no dry season, there is a wetter period from December to May (when it rains most days) and a less rainy period from August to November (when it rains 12/13 days a month).
The city is the capital of the state of Pará and is located in the north of Brazil, at the confluence of the Guamá and Acará rivers, which then flow into the great bay of the Pará River, although the ocean coast is 120 km (75 mi) further north.
